Delete Your TruthWise Account and Data

Your privacy, your choice

You may delete your TruthWise account and the personal information associated with it. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription purchased through Apple or Google Play, and it does not automatically erase information stored only on your device. Those steps are explained below.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open TruthWise and go to Settings.
2. Tap Profile & Account.
3. Tap Delete my account and confirm.

After you confirm, TruthWise deletes your active account record right away and signs you out. If you use Sign in with Apple, we also revoke TruthWise's access token for your Apple account as part of the deletion process.

Clear data stored on your phone

Account deletion removes account information held by TruthWise. To erase information stored only on your phone, including Journal entries, saved messages, and locally stored profile information, tap Delete local TruthWise data in Settings or uninstall the app. If you use Journal Lock, deleting local TruthWise data is also the recovery option if you forget your PIN and cannot use biometrics.

Delete your account by email

If you no longer have the app, email support@mytruthwise.com from the email address connected to your TruthWise account with the subject line Delete my account. If you registered with Google, Facebook, or Apple, tell us which sign-in method you used. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the request.

We will complete a verified deletion request within 30 days and email you when it is complete.

What we delete

When we delete your account, we delete the account information we hold about you, including:

• your first name, email address, sign-in account identifier, and sign-in details for Google, Facebook, Apple, or email, as applicable;
• password credentials associated with an email sign-in, if applicable;
• your age range and relationship basics, if you chose to save them with your account;
• your marketing-email preference and password-reset codes;
• the record of the Terms and Privacy Policy version you accepted and the date and time you accepted them and gave AI permission, which is stored on your account; and
• account-level records needed to operate your TruthWise profile.

What may remain, and why

Protected backups

Information deleted from active systems may remain in protected backups for up to 30 days before those backups are automatically overwritten or removed. Backups are not used to restore an account that you have deleted unless restoration is necessary to address a security incident or legal obligation.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple and Google keep their own purchase and subscription records under their respective rules. Deleting your TruthWise account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel any Apple subscription in your App Store subscriptions and any Android subscription in Google Play before or after deleting your TruthWise account.

Information we must retain

We may retain limited information when necessary to comply with law, resolve a dispute, prevent fraud or abuse, protect security, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We will retain it only for the period reasonably necessary for that purpose.

Reports you sent us

If you used the Report button, the text you reported is kept in our reporting store for up to 30 days and is then deleted automatically (reports sent before October 7, 2026 are kept for up to 90 days). A report has no name, email address, or account ID attached, so we cannot find a particular person's report and reports are not removed when you delete your account; they expire on their own. The first 300 characters of each report also appear in a daily email to the members of our team who review reports, and are not kept longer than needed to review them.

Anonymous usage counts

The mobile app sends anonymous daily counts, such as how often a tool is opened. They contain no names, messages, email addresses, or IDs and are not linked to your account, so deleting your account does not change them.

Website mailing list and website chat

If you signed up for updates on our website, that sign-up is held by our website provider (Square) and is separate from your app account. To be removed from it, email support@mytruthwise.com. Messages typed into the Casey chat on our website are not stored, so there is nothing to delete; only an anonymous daily limit counter is kept, for two days.

Messages submitted for AI help

Text you submit to receive AI-assisted suggestions or a safety response is sent to TruthWise's contracted third-party AI model providers to provide that response. Account deletion removes the account information held by TruthWise, but it cannot recall a message already processed by a provider before deletion. We do not promise that a provider never retains processing records; its handling is governed by its applicable terms and privacy practices. Do not enter passwords, payment-card information, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive information into an AI feature.

Facebook sign-in

If you used Facebook to sign in, deleting your TruthWise account removes the TruthWise account record. You may also remove TruthWise from Facebook in Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and websites. To ask us to delete information connected to Facebook sign-in, use either deletion method above.
