What's new in this version:
- TruthWise is now on the Apple App Store (iPhone, since October 30, 2026) and Google Play (Android).
- You can have TruthWise speak replies in an AI-generated voice (a computer voice, not a person), and you can speak to TruthWise instead of typing.
- You can tell us how you want to be addressed (optional, with "Prefer not to say"), and we check your age once to make sure you are 18 or older.
- We now name the AI companies that process your requests and explain your choices and rights.
- We removed wording that said everything stays on your phone. Some things do; anything you send to an AI feature is processed by our providers.
1. Scope and Controller
This policy explains how Clear Voice Communications LLC ("TruthWise," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information through the TruthWise apps for iPhone and Android, the website www.mytruthwise.com, and related services (the "Service"). We are the controller of this information.
How private is TruthWise? Some things stay on your device, such as Journal entries and your lock PIN. Other things leave your device when you use a feature that needs it: the text you type and the audio you speak go to our service and our AI providers so they can write a response. We try to collect as little as we can, keep it as briefly as we can, and we never sell it.
Translations. We may offer this policy in Spanish or other languages for convenience. If there is any conflict, the English version controls.
2. Information We Collect
2A. Profile and onboarding. Optional: first name, email address, age range, relationship basics, and "How do you want to be addressed" (Section 2F). Required: your age confirmation (Section 2G).
2B. Account and sign-in. If you sign in (for example with Sign in with Apple or Google), we receive an account identifier and the email address the provider shares.
2C. Text, prompts, and Journal content. We process what you type or speak into Polish It, TruthCheck, Hard Talk, Feelings, Practice, and other AI features to give you the response you ask for. A safety check may process it first. Journal entries are stored on your device unless you send one to an AI feature.
2D. Purchases. Subscriptions ($9.99/month or $99.99/year, with a 3-day free trial for eligible new users) are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your full payment-card number. In-app purchases on iPhone are billed by Apple; on Android, by Google. We receive subscription status, plan, trial and renewal dates, and transaction identifiers so we can unlock features.
2E. Voice and audio.
- Voice input (optional). If you turn it on and allow microphone access, the app records only while you use the microphone button. The audio is sent through our service to our third-party speech provider to turn it into text. The text is treated like other text you submit.
- AI voice (optional). If you turn on spoken replies, the reply text is sent to our third-party voice provider, which returns an AI-generated voice. The voice is synthetic, not cloned from a real person.
- What we do not do. We do not make a voiceprint or other biometric template, identify you by voice, or use your voice to guess your age, sex, gender, mood, or health. We do not use your audio to train AI models, and our providers may not use it for their own purposes.
2F. "How do you want to be addressed" (optional). You can choose how replies address you (for example he/him, she/her, they/them) or choose "Prefer not to say." You do not have to answer; the Service works the same with neutral wording. We use your choice only to word replies. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell or share it for advertising, and we do not use it to infer your sex.
2G. Age. We ask your age once to confirm you are 18 or older. We may also receive an age category or parental-consent status from Apple or Google, which we use only to enforce our adults-only rule, follow the law, and set safe defaults.
2H. Cultural and religious beliefs (optional). You may choose to tell us about your cultural or religious beliefs so suggestions can respect them. This is optional, collected only with your separate permission (Section 4A), and you can delete it at any time. We do not collect information about your political opinions.
2I. Device and technical information. Device type, operating system, app version, crash and error data, and short technical records (for example that a request happened and whether it failed), without your words or audio.
2J. Support and communications. What you send when you contact us.
2K. Apple App Store. When you download or buy through the App Store, Apple handles your Apple Account, payment, and download. Apple shares with us only limited information, such as purchase and subscription records, transaction identifiers, refund notices, and aggregated, de-identified app analytics and crash reports if you chose to share them with developers. If you use Sign in with Apple, you can hide your email address, and we receive a relay address. Apple's own handling of your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Our App Store listing includes a privacy summary ("App Privacy") that is meant to match this policy.
3. How We Use Information
- provide and personalize the Service, including AI replies, spoken AI replies, speech-to-text, and wording based on how you want to be addressed;
- confirm you are 18 or older and keep the Service adults-only;
- run safety checks and show crisis resources (including 988);
- manage subscriptions, free trials, and access;
- secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Service;
- respond to support requests and send service messages;
- comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
We do not use voice, audio, "How do you want to be addressed," age, or cultural or religious belief information for targeted advertising, advertising profiles, or AI training, and we do not use any of it to infer your sex.
4. AI Processing and Safety Checks
TruthWise uses contracted third-party AI providers to generate replies, convert speech to text, create spoken replies, and run safety checks. When you submit text or audio to an AI feature, it is sent to our service and those providers for that purpose. They may process it in the United States and other countries where they operate.
All replies are produced by AI; spoken replies use an AI-generated voice. TruthWise is not a person, not a therapist, and not a substitute for professional care or emergency help.
We use your information to answer you, not to train AI.
Crisis support. If your words suggest you may be in crisis, we may stop a spoken reply and show written crisis information. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or chat at 988lifeline.org. In an emergency, call 911.
4A. Sensitive Information and Your Permission
Some information is sensitive, including how you want to be addressed, your cultural or religious beliefs, and what you write or say about your feelings, mental health, relationships, or health, plus any inference drawn from those things. Some state laws call this "sensitive data" or "consumer health data."
We collect and use it only after you say yes on a screen that asks only about that. Using TruthWise, accepting the Terms, or tapping "Continue" elsewhere is not that permission. You can say no and still use features that do not need it, and you can withdraw permission any time in Settings > Privacy; we will then stop using the information.
We do not sell sensitive information, use it for advertising, or use it to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. We share it only with the service providers in Section 6, only to run the feature you asked for.
5. Marketing Emails and Anonymous Usage Counts
If you give us your email, we may send service messages and, where allowed, marketing emails; you can unsubscribe at any time. We may use anonymous, aggregated usage counts to improve the Service. We do not use voice, "How do you want to be addressed," age, or belief information in marketing, and we do not send it to advertising or analytics companies.
6. How We Disclose Information
- Contracted AI and speech providers (Section 4), as service providers (processors) under contracts;
- Apple and Google, as the app stores and in-app purchase billers, for app distribution, sign-in, purchases, subscriptions, and age signals;
- Cloud, infrastructure, and email providers that host and deliver the Service;
- Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect someone's safety or our rights;
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the app, or anything you type or say in it, for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not send voice, audio, "How do you want to be addressed," age, or belief information to advertising or analytics tools.
7. Storage, Retention, and Deletion
- On your device: Journal entries, your PIN, and local settings stay on your device until you delete them or the app.
- "How do you want to be addressed" and belief settings: kept until you change or delete them or delete your account.
- If you tell us you are under 18: we stop sign-up, do not save the age entered, and delete other information from that attempt.
- Providers: AI and speech providers may keep limited security or abuse-prevention records under their agreements and legal duties. We cannot promise a provider never retains submitted text or audio.
- Account deletion: delete your account in the app at Settings > Profile & Account > Delete my account, or see www.mytruthwise.com/delete-account. Email requests are handled within 30 days; backups are cleared within 30 days. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription; cancel through Apple or Google.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure.
9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Everyone, in the app. In Settings you can change or delete your "How do you want to be addressed" and belief settings; turn voice input and spoken replies off; withdraw permission for sensitive information; delete Journal content; and delete your account. You can also turn off microphone access in your device settings.
Texas residents. You have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data and to access it; correct it; delete it; get a portable copy; and opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and significant profiling. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, and we process sensitive data only with your consent. We respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days with notice). If we decline, you may appeal by emailing support@mytruthwise.com with the subject "Appeal"; we respond within 60 days. If unsatisfied, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.
California, Connecticut, Colorado, Oregon, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws: you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and port your information; limit use of sensitive information; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, and certain profiling; and not be discriminated against for using these rights.
How to ask. Email support@mytruthwise.com. We may need to verify your identity. You may use an authorized agent.
9A. Consumer Health Data Notice (Washington, Nevada, and similar laws)
- What we collect: text you share about feelings, relationships, or wellbeing; your consent choices.
- Why: to give you the response you asked for and show safety information.
- Source: you.
- Shared with: the AI providers in Section 4, as service providers only. We do not sell it.
- Your rights: confirm collection, access it and see who we shared it with, withdraw consent, and delete it via support@mytruthwise.com or Settings > Privacy.
- Consent: we ask before collecting or sharing it.
- Appeal: email "Appeal" to support@mytruthwise.com; if denied, you may contact your state Attorney General.
10. Adults Only
TruthWise is only for people 18 or older and is not directed to anyone under 18. We check age at sign-up (Section 2G). If you tell us you are under 18, or we learn that you are, we stop the sign-up and delete the information. We do not knowingly collect personal information, including voice, from anyone under 18, and never from children under 13. If you believe a minor has given us information, email support@mytruthwise.com and we will delete it.
11. International Users
TruthWise is intended for use in the United States.
12. Website Cookies and Analytics
Our website is hosted on Square and uses cookies and similar tools for site operation, checkout, and basic analytics.
Our website uses the Meta Pixel only to count general page visits (for example, that the home page or membership page was viewed) to measure our ads. It does not receive health, mental-health, feelings, relationship, or conversation information, form entries, or anything from the app. You can opt out through your browser, device ad settings, or Meta's ad preferences. No health, mental-health, or conversation content is sent to Meta or any other advertising pixel.
No health or conversation data goes to Meta or any ad pixel. We never send health, mental-health, or wellbeing information, consumer health data, or the content of your conversations, Journal entries, or prompts to Meta or to any advertising pixel, SDK, or event tool, on the website or in the app.
These tools run on the website only. We never send anything you type, say, or choose in the mobile app, including voice, "How do you want to be addressed," age, or belief information, to Square, Meta, or any other advertising or analytics tool.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service or the law changes. For a material change, we will notify you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the policy will show its new effective date. If we plan to collect a new kind of information or use information in a new way, we will ask your permission first where the law requires. Continued use is not permission for new sensitive information.
